Costa Rica recorded positive results in its public finances at the end of the first half of 2025. The country achieved a primary surplus equivalent to 1 percent of GDP<\/strong>The company's financial position, thanks to higher tax revenues and a reduction in interest payments on debt.<\/p>\n

According to the Ministry of Finance, debt-to-GDP ratio fell to 57.4 percent<\/strong>This figure is lower than the 59.8 percent reported at the end of 2024. In addition, the financial deficit improved by 0.3 percentage points with respect to the previous year.<\/p>\n

Minister of Finance, Rudolf L\u00fccke Bola\u00f1os, assured that these achievements strengthen international confidence\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/g>\r\n <\/g>\r\n <\/g>\r\n <\/g><\/svg><\/span><\/a> y consolidate Costa Rica as a country with sounder finances<\/strong>This is reflected in the decline of the EMBI risk indicator, which closed at 206 basis points, the lowest level among comparable economies.<\/p>\n

With these results, the government reaffirms its commitment to fiscal sustainability and the goal of reaching investment grade.<\/p>\n
