The Central Bank of Costa Rica unveiled new thematic accounts detailing how the country's supply and expenditure is distributed in education, health and environmental protection, in addition to presenting the official application of the carbon footprint.<\/p>\n

In education, the supply of services reached \u20a13.4 billion.\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/g>\r\n <\/g>\r\n <\/g>\r\n <\/g><\/svg><\/span><\/a>, equivalent to 7.6% of GDP 2022, where the complete scheme -primary, secondary and higher education- accounts for more than 75% of that supply, and the General Government contributes 57.5%.<\/p>\n

In health, supply totaled \u20a14.2 trillion, or 9.2% of GDP, with hospitals and outpatient centers accounting for 86.5% of the services provided. Annual per capita spending by the General Government was \u20a1410 thousand, compared to \u20a1271 thousand by households.<\/p>\n

In environmental matters, spending on protection increased from \u20a164 billion in 2021 to \u20a159 billion in 2024, accounting for 0.7% of Central Government spending.
\nThe country's carbon footprint reached 15.9 million tons of CO\u2082 equivalent, where household consumption generated 72% of the total.<\/p>\n
