The PLP presented another project to remove Costa Rica from the list of non-cooperating jurisdictions. The intention is good, as well as that of the PUSC, but the opposition should have a single voice in this or, as it happened in Uruguay, the most technical commands of the State, aware of the imminent damage to the country for being so qualified by our European partners, should hurry to present a project that addresses this issue. We know that the government wants to present, together with the solution to such problem, other fiscal measures, controversial as fiscal reforms usually are, we put in a dangerous roulette to achieve the required reforms in those aspects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On the other hand, a bill was published in La Gaceta that intends to promote commerce and economic reactivation by means of 3 days during the year in which VAT is not charged. The idea is that this will allow people to consume products at a lower cost and this will encourage consumption. The Project takes inspiration from Colombian regulations and the traditional \"Black Friday\", where days during the year are assigned to encourage consumption. Of course, taxes have an impact on consumption decisions, but as with stagnant inflation, nothing is achieved by removing or imposing taxes if production does not grow. It has not been an ordinary week and it should not go unnoticed. We have a terrible pain in the heart of this society and the urgent need to know how to heal it.
