Last week, between February 6 and 8, the MD&M West trade fair, the most important in the medical device sector in the United States, was held, in which PROCOMER participated with the objective of positioning Costa Rica's ecosystem of advanced manufacturing companies, as well as the country's value proposition for new investments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the event, and in line with the institution's strategy to attract foreign direct investment, PROCOMER held meetings with companies already established in Costa Rica and with new investment prospects, to promote the country as an ideal destination for investment and to seek reinvestment in the case of companies already established in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In 2023, exports from the precision and medical equipment (medical devices) sector reached $7,624 million, up 28% from 2022. More than 65% of those exports are directed to the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Medical devices occupy the first position in terms of fastest growing and most exported products in 2023. The share of these products in total goods exports is 42%, while their growth was over $1.7 billion in the previous year.<\/p>\n
