Costa Rica closed the year 2025 with a historic record in goods exports. The Ministry of Foreign Trade, COMEX, officialized the figures this Thursday and reported that foreign sales reached US$22,855 million, representing a growth of 14% compared to 2024.
According to the data released, this increase is equivalent to an absolute increase of US$2,858 million, and marks the first year in which the country surpassed the US$20 billion threshold in goods exports.
Among the main exported products were medical devices, which represented 48% of the total, followed by pineapple, with 6%, and bananas, with 5%. There was also relevant participation of products such as gold coffee, electric cables, fruit juices and concentrates, among others.
In terms of destinations, growth was recorded in almost all regions, led by North America, Europe and Asia, the latter with an increase of 39%.
