The "three-visit" approach to ICS
We model and design our consulting products based on the three-visit approach: every company, especially family-owned companies, must act as if it will receive three visits tomorrow: the visit of the authorities, the visit of a potential buyer and the visit of death. For each of these visits, the company must be prepared: if it is the authorities, all permits must be up to date, taxes must be well presented with accurate backups and in full compliance with the regulations, all employees must be reported and all contracts must be up to date, for example. For the visit of a buyer, our financial statements must reflect the reality of the company, our inventories up to date, our contracts with suppliers updated, our intellectual property registered, in short, the elements of a due diligence. And for the third visit, death, the succession plan must be initiated, the capacity of the company to continue operating from the representation of the company (powers of attorney) must be prepared for such event, the shareholder or share holders agreement must contemplate the steps to follow in case of death of the shareholders or managers, and the patrimonial succession must be planned.
