Costa Rica's General Directorate of Taxation has announced new regulations for compliance with tax obligations in digital platforms. As of January 2025, these platforms will be required to withhold and remit Value Added Tax (VAT) on services rendered in the country. This measure seeks to increase tax collection and ensure that platforms comply with their tax responsibilities in Costa Rica.
