Yesterday, the Ministry of Finance announced that on January 26, 2024, Customs officials found a shipment of products coming from the United States containing expired influenza vaccines without supporting documents, which were intended to be sold in outlet stores.

In total there were 320 doses of vaccines with an expiration date of June 2022, which, in addition to not being declared to customs, did not have the necessary documents and permits for their importation, so the seizure was immediately coordinated with the Ministry of Health, informed Cristian Montiel, Deputy Director General of Customs.

With respect to the control of outlets importers, the National Customs Service informed that it will continue to carry out inspections on the entry of containers into the country and their unloading at bonded warehouses, at the time of filing customs declarations for the nationalization of goods.
