The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has requested Costa Rica's Legislative Assembly to avoid passing laws that decrease tax revenues. The IMF mission chief for Costa Rica, Ding Ding, highlighted the importance of safeguarding the country's revenue base and warned about the negative effects of tax exemptions on tax collection. This recommendation was part of the conclusions of the XVIII Regional Conference on Central America, Panama and the Dominican Republic, held in Costa Rica.
