The Ministry of Finance presented a new National Strategy Against Smuggling and Evasion, which includes a set of administrative, technological, and legislative actions aimed at strengthening tax and customs control, as well as improving collection without creating new taxes.
Key initiatives include projects to strengthen the fight against fraudulent electronic receipts, modernize customs legislation, bolster the recovery of overdue taxes, and improve goods traceability through enhanced controls on foreign trade operations. The strategy also incorporates measures to intensify oversight and strengthen risk analysis using technological tools.
The plan also includes, in the medium and long term, reforms aimed at simplifying tax administration, modernizing the tax system, and strengthening the regulatory framework of the Ministry of Finance. Through these measures, the Administration seeks to reduce opportunities for tax evasion and smuggling, thereby promoting a more efficient and transparent tax system.
