The Ministry of Finance announced the launch of the TRIBU-CR mobile application, a free tool that allows taxpayers to complete tax-related procedures and consult information related to their tax returns, payments, and other transactions from anywhere, both within and outside Costa Rica, except in locations with restricted access due to security reasons.
The application is available on Google Play and the App Store, offers access to tax services 24 hours a day and allows the use of the device's biometric authentication as a security mechanism.
Among its main functionalities are the submission of declarations, the payment of taxes, the registration and deregistration for tax purposes, the modification of data, the consultation of the status of tax obligations and access to the free TICO FACTURA invoice provider.
In addition, taxpayers can track the actions taken on their behalf by accountants or other authorized third parties, which makes it easier to monitor their tax obligations.
Hacienda reminded that the access credentials to TRIBU-CR are personal and non-transferable. When a third party is required to carry out procedures on behalf of the taxpayer, the “Authorisation of third parties” option must be used, available in the Virtual Office (OVI).
Finally, the institution recommends downloading the application only from official stores and keeping operating systems and device security measures up to date.
