The Ministry of Finance will implement a new security scheme for cryptographic keys used in electronic voucher signing, as part of actions aimed at strengthening information protection and the reliability of the electronic invoicing system.

The new policy It establishes that the cryptographic keys generated must use a PIN with more robust security standards, incorporating greater length and a combination of uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters. With this measure, the Tax Administration seeks to reduce risks associated with weak access credentials and strengthen the authentication mechanisms used by taxpayers.

The Treasury clarified that currently valid cryptographic keys will remain valid until their expiration or revocation, while the new requirements will only apply to keys generated under the new scheme. Additionally, a transition period was granted for developers of electronic voucher systems to adapt their platforms to the new technical specifications.

The update is part of the process to strengthen the technological infrastructure of the Tax Administration and measures aimed at ensuring the security of electronic transactions in the country.
