Costa Rica's exports of goods continue to show strong dynamism.
In the period January to August of this year, the country achieved a growth of 16% compared to 2024, which is equivalent to an additional US$2,123 million, for a total of US$15,036 million in exports.
The precision and medical equipment sector leads with a 33% increase, accounting for almost half of exports. It is followed by the agricultural sector, with a 17% share and outstanding increases in products such as gold coffee, which grew by 43%, and frozen fruits, with 35%.
In terms of destinations, North America grew by 21% and remains the main trading partner, followed by Europe, with an increase of 17%, and Asia, which recorded an outstanding 26%.
COMEX and PROCOMER authorities agreed that this performance confirms the strength and diversification of the Costa Rican export model, opening new opportunities for the country in the midst of a challenging international context.
