The Central Bank of Costa Rica clarifies to the public that the SINPE Mobile service continues to operate normally and without any prohibition.
In the last few days, messages have been circulating in social networks indicating the opposite. However, the monetary authority reaffirms that there are no changes in the use of this platform and that people can continue to use it with the same ease, security and speed as always.
The only modification in force, ordered by the Ministry of Finance, is related to an adjustment in electronic invoicing: merchants must now include a specific code to identify payments made via SINPE MobileThe same as with cards, transfers or cash.
This change is only of a fiscal nature and does not affect the consumer. The Central Bank invites the population to continue trusting in this service, which facilitates instant transfers, free of charge and accessible to the public.
