The Ministry of Finance submitted a draft resolution to public consultation that introduces Modifications to the Single Customs Declaration (DUA) for the Transit Regime, with the objective of strengthening control mechanisms over goods entering the country and improving the traceability of customs operations.
The proposal seeks to have declarations include more detailed information about the type of merchandise, its commercial value, and the consignees, allowing the Directorate-General of Customs to conduct more precise risk analyses and strengthen preventive oversight, without affecting the normal flow of operations for operators who comply with regulations.
Additionally, the initiative aims to strengthen controls on goods subject to special regulations and reduce areas that currently facilitate inconsistencies in customs management, contributing to greater transparency in foreign trade operations.
Observations on the project can be submitted until July 24, 2026, prior to the issuance of the final resolution. If approved, the new requirements will take effect once the public consultation process is concluded and the official resolution is published.
