The Ministry of Finance last week published the fiscal data as of February 2024, in which a primary surplus of 0.3% of GDP was recorded, equivalent to ¢127,500 million, higher by ¢8,656 million when compared to the same period of the previous year (¢118,844 million, equivalent to 0.3% of GDP).
According to the information provided by the Ministry of Finance, this is the best GDP result recorded as of February in the last four years and the fourth if the 2006-2008 period is taken into consideration.
Referring to the results shown in the second month of the year, the Minister of Finance, Nogui Acosta Jaén, emphasized that the country is on the right track, being consistent in the last two years and reaching a positive result as of February 2024.
