The Ministry of Finance announced new security policies for the PIN of cryptographic keys used in the signing of electronic receipts, in order to strengthen the protection of taxpayers' tax information.
As of this update, the new keys must have a PIN of at least fourteen characters, including an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter, a number and a special character, thus raising digital security standards.
The Treasury clarified that the current keys, issued with a four-digit PIN, may continue to be used without any inconvenience until their expiration or revocation date, and the vouchers signed with them will continue to be valid.
In addition, a six-month transition period was established during which it will still be possible to generate four-digit PIN keys, to allow developers of electronic invoicing systems to adjust their platforms to the new conditions.
After this deadline, all new keys must comply with the reinforced security requirements.
