Exports of goods increased 7.5% in third quarter

Costa Rica reports a significant increase in exports, with growth in both the final and special regimes, and an improvement in services.

Costa Rica's exports of goods increased by 7.5% in the third quarter of 2024, with growth in the definitive regime (3.0%) and in the special regime (9.9%), highlighting products such as beef, dairy, coffee, and pineapple. Services exports also grew by 3.9%, driven by demand for computer and business services. Imports increased by 4.1%, reflecting domestic consumption, especially in vehicles, food, and transportation equipment. In addition, imported services grew by 7.8%, driven mainly by outbound tourism.
