Between January and April 2024, the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Commerce (MEIC), has achieved that consumers receive financial compensation of ₡233,044,013 thanks to the implementation of alternative dispute resolution mechanisms and compliance with final resolutions as a result of the rulings of the National Consumer Commission (CNC), who is the specialized court for consumer rights.
The MEIC also emphasizes that actions have been strengthened in counseling and guidance, in which more than 200 companies have been trained in advertising of goods and services, right to information, special procedure for consumer protection, right of guarantee and compliance with technical regulations, among others.
