The Ministry of Finance announced the implementation of a mandatory registration of telephone numbers associated with payment platforms, with the purpose of strengthening user identification and improving the traceability of transactions made through these means. The measure is part of the actions aimed at reinforcing tax control mechanisms and the quality of information available to the Administration.

According to the institution, the registry will allow for better linking between payment methods and their owners, contributing to the prevention of inconsistencies and the strengthening of supervision and enforcement processes.

The authorities called on taxpayers to remain attentive to the provisions issued by the Treasury and to verify timely compliance with the new requirements in order to avoid complications in the use of these payment mechanisms.
