The Ministry of Finance, through the General Directorate of Taxation, announced the extension of the deadline for taxpayers to implement version 4.4 of the electronic vouchers, established in Resolution No. MH-DGT-RES-0027-2024. The new deadline will be September 1, 2025, providing more time for companies and software developers to make the necessary adjustments to their systems and effectively adapt to the new requirements.
The purpose of this extension is to secure the correct implementation of the changes in electronic invoicingThis will allow taxpayers to comply with the provisions without affecting the development of their operations. In addition, electronic receipts play a fundamental role within the Digital Treasury strategy - TRIBU-CR, since they will be a key input for the implementation of the pre-filling of self-assessment returns, scheduled for 2026.
The Director General of Taxation, Mario Ramos, highlighted that this measure seeks to facilitate the transition to the new version of the system without generating inconveniences in the economic activity of taxpayers. In addition, he informed that the Tax Administration will implement an information and training plan to guide taxpayers on the use and updates of version 4.4 of the electronic vouchers. The invitation to these trainings will be made in due time through the official institutional channels.
The resolution formalizing this extension is in the process of being published in the Official Gazette La Gaceta.
