In Costa Rica, the net labor participation rate showed a significant reduction of 2.7 percentage points compared with the same quarter of the previous year, according to data from the INEC Continuous Employment Survey.
The report states that the labor participation rate was 53.9% at the national level. In the case of men, it reached 66.2%, while in the case of men it reached 66.2%. women dropped to 41.6%The largest reduction was in women, with 3.1 percentage points less.
For its part, the unemployed population was estimated at 153 thousand peopleThis represents a decrease of 33 thousand with respect to the previous year. With this, the national unemployment rate stood at 6.7%, also showing a decrease of 1.1 percentage points.
The employed population remained at 2.14 million, with no relevant variations, while the labor force decreased by 86 thousand people.
These results reflect that, although unemployment is falling, more people are exiting the country's labor force.
