The Ministry of Finance published last week the fiscal figures as of April 2024, in which the central government recorded a primary surplus in the first four months of this year.
The result of the primary surplus in millions of colones is the third highest in the last 19 years, surpassed by those recorded in 2022 and 2023.
On the other hand, the financial deficit reached 1.1% of GDP, the fourth lowest result in the last 16 years, although higher by 0.4 percentage points compared to the same period of the previous year.
